Words to Live By

by | Jul 9, 2021

I don’t know about you, but I like to surround myself with things that motivate, inspire, encourage or comfort me. And apparently a lot of other people like to surround themselves with positive sayings, too. Look at the market for word wall art and refrigerator magnets!

Recently, I made an addition to my website, The Law Office of Constance A. Aschenbrenner. Did you see it? I added my personal motto. I found these words to live by printed on a simple tote bag while I was out shopping one day. They made such an impression on me that I adopted them as my personal statement to live by:

Do something today your future self

will thank you for!

It seems a simple enough sentence, but it is deceptively powerful. Those ten words remind me that getting the life I want requires participation on my part. Pretty profound, huh?

Take action

This little message motives and inspires me to take action in some facet of my life. Every. Single. Day. Action leads to results. Daily actions get you to where you want to go more quickly than dreaming about your future life does. You can build on daily actions, accomplish things you never thought possible. Everything is achievable if you chunk it down into simple steps. Books are written one paragraph at a time. College degrees are earned one course at a time. Paintings are completed one brush stroke at a time.

These words to live by seem a good fit for my client family. The work we do together today to build an estate plan that protects their family for that day in the future when it is needed for guidance. Nothing pleases me more than to see the relief on the faces of family members when they discover that their loved one put a plan in place to protect and care for them.

Our words to live by can change over the years as we move through life. Needs change. New dreams replace old ones. Families grow. I invite you to find some words that inspire, encourage, motivate or comfort you in whatever circumstance you are in right now. Your personal statement to live by needs to be one that nudges you forward every day. After all, we were never met to stay stuck in one place. And, while dreams are good, they don’t benefit us if they never leave our head!

Words to live by

Life is ever evolving. Remember the old saying, Change is the only constant. I’m putting a few other inspiring statements below just to get you off on the right foot. Feel free to choose one of these if it resonates, or even borrow mine!

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn’t do than by the ones you did do, so throw off the bowlines, sail away from safe harbor, catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore, dream, discover.”
Mark Twain

It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop.
Confucius

Let the refining and improving of your own life keep you so busy that you have little time to criticize others.
H. Jackson Brown, Jr.

If you’d like to take a positive step towards achieving the life you desire and securing your family’s future, let’s schedule a time to talk. I would love to know what your personal statement to live by is and why you chose it.

Simply contact me at 907-334-9200 or online and let’s get started.
